Rizographics

     For many years this technology has been leading in the printing world mainly due to a moderate price.
   Low cost and efficiency of this type of printing makes it irreplaceable in production of advertisements, information bulletins, Letterheads, forms, labels, advertising leaflets and guarantee stickers.
   Digital duplicators (rizographs) are designed for economical high-speed and multicolor printing on A6-A3 paper. By cost price of imprints they can compete with master plates and compact offset machines with circulation ranging from 50 to 5000 copies.
   Work of duplicators is based on digital method of image transmission and pattern rotary printing.
   To be more exact, the original (printed on laser printer, though it can also be a photocopy made on a jet printer) with normal contrast range is put on a digital scanner. In a few seconds after pressing start button you get a test imprint and then the machine is ready to print at 130 copies per a minute. The original is read by scanner with resolution of 600 dpi. After that, image in digital form is transmitted to the thermohead control device. Thermohead burns through the smallest openings on the intermediate carrier called “master film” or on the pattern exactly in accordance with the original. Ready “master” automatically is stretched on the surface of printing cylinder (drum) inside of which there is a pipe with paint. The paint is pressed through openings in the master and drops on the paper passing under rotating drum. In other words the primitive printing scheme similar to offset printing is performed. No expensive preparatory matrix (films) process is necessary for real offset printing. In total, only a few seconds pass from the creation of an original model till the product is made.
   Technological limitations of this method of circulation do not allow including half-tone images into original-model leaflets or advertisements without special adaptation. Sometimes it is decided to stylize a picture or to transmit a photo image to a line form which is done by a experienced designer.
   All in all, if you need quickly and at a low price to print Letterhead , leaflet (with personified data) or brochure (with line (vector) illustration) with circulation up to 5000 imprints it makes sense to address to the risograph service manufacturer. But please bear in mind all above mentioned and do not demand from them high quality printing which offset printing provides.
